Receiving the ball with back foot – Football Drills

Session Topic: Receiving the ball with back foot – Phase 1 

Player name: Flynn Warne

Session aim:

To improve Flynn’s ability to receive with back foot and the movement to create the space to receive.

Receiving the ball with back foot Set 2:

Flynn must use opposite movement to create space to receive possession. Then can Flynn complete the 1-2 with the coach to get into a wide possession to receive with the back foot.

Additional challenge:

Can he check his shoulder before receiving

 

Coaching points:

  1. Weight/accuracy of pass
  2. Body shape ( must be open to be able to see both player and white cone )
  3. First touch towards white cone

Equipment used:

  1. Cones x11
  2. Balls size 3×2
